Nesting

Nesting is a reflection on the instinct to create a place of safety, warmth and protection in anticipation of new life.

At the centre of the work a woven cocoon takes on the form of a quiet sanctuary - enclosed, delicate and protective. It speaks to the womb as a first home, and to the instinctive pull to gather, prepare and create a space where something precious can grow.

Leah Creaven is a textile designer and artist whose work explores tactile forms, landscape, and spatial presence. Positioning herself at the intersection of traditional craft and contemporary textile art, Creaven works with fiber as a dimensional medium to evoke warmth and depth.
