Sharn Ammann is a textile artist whose practice explores resourcefulness, light, and the art of unhurried living. Studio methodology centers on intentionality and a slower pace, rooted in domestic life alongside proximity to the bush and ocean. Sharn’s process relies on working within constraints, repurposing unwanted fabrics and considerately assembling leftover materials into dynamic textile compositions. Embracing the traditional Korean art of Bojagi, Sharn constructs patchwork works that engage with natural illumination, allowing light to filter through layered seams much like sunlight moving through forest leaves or reflecting off the sea.

Positioning textiles as a standalone fine art medium, Sharn moves beyond functional garment making to craft pieces centered on materiality and spatial harmony. Drawing visual inspiration from the aged hues and structural craftsmanship of antique stained-glass windows, the work utilizes light as a key element to reveal hidden depth, texture, and color shifts. Through sustainable practices and a focus on transformation, Sharn elevates discarded materials into luminous, meaningful works that bring a sense of quiet presence into everyday spaces.
