When we look up
$550.00 NZD
When we look up, we see everything. This work tells the story of the night sky which shines over us come winter. Woven cotton acts as the darkness which cloaks us. Muka acts as the stars which inspire us. The spine of the weaving acts as the gateway which connects us.
Based in Aotearoa New Zealand, Isla Frater Keast is a weaver and visual artist whose practice centers on presence, connection, and the natural world. Through woven forms and spatial installations, she explores womanhood, togetherness, and warmth, a quality she grounds in the element of fire. Her work honors the power of slow making to bridge personal memory and shared human experience.
