Aria Hinewai Te Hei Parker is a Māori contemporary artist and architectural designer based in the Greater Kāpiti Coast/Wellington region. She serves as the creative director and designer for Pourama ('The Art of Light'), specializing in architecturally designed wooden lamps and artwork that draw heavily upon Māori spiritual traditions regarding light. Her artistic philosophy for her work draws upon the rich references to light in Māori spiritual traditions. She reflects the hope associated with Te Ao Marama (the world of light), which was created by the separation of the divine parents Ranginui and Papatūanuku.
Sustainable laminated plywood, are hand and machine finished, and are produced as a limited edition.
