Pinch and coiled ceramic vessel gilded in silver leaf, and varnished. This work is influenced by Art Nouveau ceramics - particularly those which took inspiration from metalwork like wrought and cast iron.
Bella Christine Hessell is a Waiheke-based artist with a deep interest in the earthly and the esoteric. Since receiving her BFA from Elam School of Fine Arts in 2022, she has continued her studies in Ceramics through Otago Polytechnic, driven by the textures of New Zealand’s rugged coastlines.
Gilded ceramic, 160 mm diameter x 215 mm high (variable) with 100% Sculpted Beeswax candles by Rocky Redwood included.
