Chasing Impermanence I
Inge Flinte is a visual artist and photographer, based on Wadawurrung Country, Australia, but originally from New Zealand. Through her art, she explores home, displacement, and belonging. Drawing from her history as the daughter of immigrants, she translates the marks, shadows, and textures of the spaces she inhabits onto canvas.
Her practice is defined by environmental responsibility and the concept of Mono no Aware, the beauty in impermanence. Through a slow accumulation of eco-printing, cyanotype, and foraged pigments, she records the layered relationship between time and memory.
By walking the land and studying the seasonal shifts of local flora, Inge captures the residue of specific moments. Her work acknowledges the quiet inevitability of change, building a sense of home through deep observation.
